Q: I cannot use GPS & Radio/CD/iPod at the same time. Is dual mode possible?
A: Certainly. Both AVNC models is capable of playing a media source while using GPS. To enable multi mode, Press the GPS button on the front fascia for 3 secs. Select"Multi" mode.
Q: I cannot listen to Radio/CD/iPod while using a reversing camera.
A: The AVNC mutes the audio source while in reverse mode to allow the rear view sensors to be heard clearly. This feature is standard and cannot be disabled.
Q: What is the DVD provided used for?
A: The DVD provided has a full licensed version of Memory Map Topo software for your PC. The software and maps can be installed onto your PC. You may use the software to plan & review your trips. It is also GPS activated and will function as a moving map software when used in conjunction with any NMEA USB gps receiver.
Q:When i start Topo GPS on the AVNC, a message appears displaying "Basic GPS resource not activated". I cannot use the GPS in Topo mode. How can i overcome this?
A: This message is designed to alert the user that the Topo GPS software has not been activated on the SD card. To activate Topo GPS software, please follow steps outlined by this document.
Q: Why does my AVNC only play DVDs but not CDs?
A: Playing DVDs & CDs is accessed through the same menu which is DVD.
Q: The screen is too bright at night, even in GPS night mode. How do i dim the screen?
A: The AVNC screen can be dimmed by selecting Night mode. Go to Settings > Settings2 > Turn Night to ON.
Q: What is the Warranty period for the AVNC?
The AVNC comes with 12 month standard warranty. Extended warranty also applies when purchased & installed from a VMS authorised dealer. The customer is required to register the product by completing the extended warranty form & return a copy with its proof of purchase (tax invoice).
Q: My unit is making interference noises from the vehicles engine, how do i resolve this?
On a rare occurrence this may happen, to resolve this issue purchase and install a ground loop isolator for around $40 from any auto electrical store.
Q: Can I get the AVNC unit to work with my steering wheel controls?
A: yes, the AVNC 3000 & 2500 is capable of interfacing with resistance & voltage type of OEM steering wheel controls. However, we do not guarantee that all functions are compatible.
